What does The Bible say about Giving to a Missionary?
Philippians 4:15-17 -
“And you Philippians yourselves know that in the beginning of the gospel, when I left Macedonia, no church entered into partnership with me in giving and receiving, except you only. Even in Thessalonica you sent me help for my needs once and again. Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that increases to your credit.”
Romans 10:14-15 -
“How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”’
2 Thessalonians 3:1 -
“Finally, brothers, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may speed ahead and be honored, as happened among you,”
1 Corinthians 9:14 -
“In the same way, the Lord commanded that those who proclaim the gospel should get their living by the gospel.”
Luke 10:2 -
“And he said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”
3 John 1:8 -
“Therefore we ought to support such people so that we may be fellow workers for the truth.”

Testimonies From The Field
“During my DTS, I grew in many different areas concerning my walk with the Lord. Experiencing community and missions on the level that I did during my DTS was something I’ll never forget. Growing up I’ve always enjoyed and appreciated the Word. I’ve enjoyed learning the hidden truths and depth of scripture. But while on outreach in Papua New Guinea, my leader Bailey began to teach the book of Daniel to a group of young men in a rehab center. Sitting in on her lessons I was completely blown away at just how far in depth and meaning scripture really went. Hearing Bailey teach Daniel in a way that she learned it during her SBS also inspired me to want to go into further biblical schooling”
— John Kerr - Former Student
“My relationship with Bailey started a few years ago, we connected during a DTS lecture week as my wife and I were asked to teach. I knew that there was an anointing within her that was waiting to be revealed and released. Bailey’s gifting of heartfelt worship was and still is undeniable. She has been on several DTS schools and bible schools which have added experience and understanding to her spiritual growth and maturity. Her heart for people is evident in her compassion to reach the lost. Bailey has become part of the New Hope Waikoloa ohana (family) and no matter where the Spirit leads her she will always have a home with us. She has served on the worship team lead, youth ministry and has brought several YWAM teams to support the church in different capacities as we reach the body of Christ and the lost here on the island. We are honored to support Bailey in her missional call both financially and spiritually. Thank you Bailey for all you do to further the kingdom here on earth.”
— Pastor Rick Nagaoka - New Hope Waikoloa Church
“I’m so blessed to have had Bailey as my one-on-one and outreach leader! During lecture phase she always supported me and encouraged me to continue learning and processing everything we were learning. She has amazing biblical knowledge and was a rock when I needed someone to lean on. On outreach, Bailey faithfully co-led the team, and showed a great example of servant-leadership and relating to the people of Papua New Guinea. She is a passionate worshipper and lover of Jesus!”
— Cami Johnson - Former Student
“Having had the privilege of working with Bailey for four years, I have seen time and time again that her ultimate desire is to grow in her relationship with the Lord and love those around her well. Over the years, she has truly become one of my favorite people. Bailey is deeply devoted to truth, constantly seeking to align her life with God’s will and depend entirely on Him and the fruit of her life shows it. It has been an absolute blessing to watch her grow in confidence and step into her role as a key leader here at YWAM Ships Kona.”
—Caleb Tate - Former Leadership at YWAM Ships Kona
